Smart Urban Adapt (SUA)

Smart Urban Adapt (SUA)

The application-oriented research project Smart Urban Adapt (SUA) began at the beginning of 2012 and runs until the end of 2013. It examines possibilities for integrated modelling of cities that are ecologically more sustainable. Here, the focus is on (micro-) climatic issues, such as urban heating, energy consumption, and CO2 emissions. SUA links together already existing models of different project partners:

  • Land use and transport (rC/IVT/IMP)
  • Building stock (TepEnergy)
  • Area development (UrbanCode)
  • Microclimate (EMPA)
  • 3-D visualisation (SBC)

regioConcept coordinates the administration, and is responsible for the simulation of land-use and transportation. The project is supported by the Knowledge and Innovation Center on Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation (Climate-KIC) of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). More information about the research project can be found on the project web site.
